Ancient Egyptian amulets or talismans
Talismans and amulets are still a very large part of Egyptian culture. Each and every talisman or amulet has a special meaning. Egyptians are very superstitious and things like these are used by all people and are taken very seriously. Any where that you go in Egypt is packed with different parts of history and these talismans and amulets have defiantly played a huge part in all of Egypt's history.
The egyptian Ankh or Key of life The egyptian Ankh or the key of life was used commonly around Ancient Egypt and still is used in modern times. Now days it is mostly known as the key of eternal life. Gods and Goddesses were known to carry these keys of life, they were a very important part of the Egyptian culture as the all Egyptians believed in the theory that every one has three souls or afterlives. When people were mummified it was important to be wrapped with at least 1 ankh. When these mummies were discovered there was usually a key of eternal life symbol wrapped in the sheets with the deceased body. |
